Purple lips, chunky necklace...I'm all set for tonight!
Happy NYE!

Getting Ready for NYE!

NYE is finally here! And I am taking my sweet time getting ready for tonight.I decided to really concentrate on my dark lips, and go pretty basic on the eyes. I've tried many products for dark lip color and I'm sorry to say that the drugstore brands can't compare to the more upscale ones when it comes to purple hues. This urban decay lipstick in venom is fantastic, it doesn't bleed or crack and it truly stays on all night.
As for my eyes I want a slight shimmer and some contouring, nothing major. The perfect shadows for this is my NAKED2 urban decay kit. The colors are buildable, so they are great for achieving subtle looks.
For my nails I got inspired by the oddest thing, tv static. Granted they look more like paint splatter but I still am obsessed. I used Revlon top speed nail color in Black Magic as my base, and layered on Maybelline Color Show in Clearly Spotted on top. These polishes are cheap and so far haven't chipped! I usually like a solid basic color on my nails but for nye I think this look is perfect.
So there we have the majority of my beauty products for tonight. I'll try and post more today but if not then, happy new years!

New Fashion Obsession.

I took the plunge. This past boxing day I finally bought a pair of doc martens. It wasn't the greatest deal but I fell in-love with them as soon as I saw Jessica Alba sporting them (along with Miley Cyrus in her wrecking ball music video). They are slightly frightening, due to the fact that if you don't pair them with the right outfit you could look like a punk rocker reject. I do think the burgundy is a less intense version of this boot, and the colour is so rich that it brings a coolness to even the most basic of jeans.
The 90's are back! And I'm welcoming the old trends with opened and flannel covered arms.

Jessica Alba, love how versatile she makes her docs.

Miley Cyrus rocking the more punk rock style, love her ballsy-ness!

Less is more.

I'll be the first to admit that I have wasted tons of money on skincare products. From skin brightening creams to toners to masks, you name it and I've more than likely have tried it. My skin has never had severe problems, I deal with blemishes now and then and dryness, nothing major. However I did finally start realizing the more products I used to help 'cure' imperfections, the more I'd breakout.
I finally did research and found out what products I actually NEEDED for my skin type (dry with some redness). I found that what I should use is; a basic everyday moisturizer (Clinique Dramatically Different); a lotion to soothe my redness due to past breakouts(bliss's no zit Sherlock correcting serum) this product is amazing I highly recommend it for reducing redness!;an under-eye brightening cream for the day (Youth Code by Loreal).
For night I use Tarte's Pure Maracuja oil and Maracuja C-brighter eye treatment. These products are a bit to heavy to wear during the day I find, the oils in them make your makeup sweat.
So there you have it! Less is defiantly more when it comes to skincare and you should switch up your routine for day and night.

Bath and Body Works haul.

SO this past 'boxing week' (is this a new thing? Or am I just completely out of the loop?) Bath and Body Works had probably the best deals and steals.
I'm not a huge fan of sweet smelling body lotions, so I tend to lean towards lotions scented like sea Island cotton (pictured above).Which just leaves a hint of clean linen fragrance on your skin. So you can imagine my surprise when I found myself purchasing sweet and girly body lotions and sprays. Was it the price that led me to buy them? Maybe. The pretty packaging? Perhaps. But so far I've tried Carried Away, Velvet sugar and they are not overwhelming like some vanilla-based lotions can be. So if you're like me who enjoys subtle perfumes and just a hint of sweetness on your skin, I would recommend these!

P.s I will write a review for the Sexy Dahlia Rush when I get a chance to use it.

First Blog Post, bare with me.

So my very first blog post ever, and I suppose I should begin with saying how nerve wracking it is to do this. How am I going to keep people interested in what I enjoy? Humor? Pretty pictures? Satirical rants? A combination of all three? There's only one way to figure it out and it's through trial and error. So please bare with me while I try to figure this all out.
